About The Position

This role involves assessing, instructing, and preparing patients prior to surgery, ensuring all consents are properly signed. The position also includes assessing post-operative conditions, monitoring vital signs, charting findings, answering patient questions, and managing condition changes. The RN will perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies and other assigned tasks. The job requires a commitment to building and sustaining a diverse, inclusive, and equitable working environment, and the ability to remain calm and efficient in emergency situations.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered Colorado RN license required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required within three (3) months of hire or transfer.
  • Kind and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, instruct, and prepare patients prior to surgery.
  • Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
  • Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedures.
  • Initiate IVs.
  • Assess patient's post-operative condition.
  • Monitor Vital Signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria.
  • Accurately chart findings and progress in patient chart.
  • Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort before and after surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician.
  • Perform intervention duties as assigned during post-operative emergencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
