About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, a Magnet Hospital recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for professional nursing practice. The Postpartum/Nursery Unit provides family-centered maternity care in a Level III postpartum/nursery setting, with private rooms, couplet care, a 24/7 nursery staffed by nurses specializing in newborn care, around-the-clock maternal/fetal medicine consultation, and 24/7 neonatology care through a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

As a registered nurse on the team, you will provide direct patient care and work with patients, families, visitors, and fellow caregivers to support a positive care experience and provide healthcare information. The role calls for an empathetic, understanding, and nurturing caregiver who can support quality patient care and effective treatment. The schedule is nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within one year of hire.
• One year of current acute care RN experience or military RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to facilitate planned and expected outcomes.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and families using educational materials while considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
• Interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, providing healthcare information as needed.
