About The Position

This is a 60% FTE Weekender position with 12-hour Day/Evening shifts every Saturday and Sunday from 0700-1930, working at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. This position is eligible for shift and weekender differentials. You will be part of a highly skilled and committed multidisciplinary team, providing family-centered care to critically ill or injured children and their families in a state-of-the-art 21-bed unit. The role involves providing comprehensive care for patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical problems, including acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO. High-quality care for complex cardiac conditions, including congenital heart defects, Ventricular Assisted Devices, and heart transplant, is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire
• Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire
• Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Relevant RN experience
• PALS within 6 months
• Relevant certification
