About The Position
This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry. The role involves performing patient assessments, making clinical decisions, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams. The nurse will monitor patient responses, provide education, delegate tasks, mentor staff, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Compliance with regulatory and organizational standards is essential.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience
- Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN)
- Epic experience required
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- NIHSS required
- English proficiency required
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments according to policy, procedure, and patient condition.
- Make sound independent clinical decisions and prioritize patient care needs.
- Initiate, implement, review, and revise individualized plans of care.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide and coordinate patient and family education throughout hospitalization and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
- Serve as a mentor and preceptor as assigned.
- Promote teamwork and identify opportunities for quality, safety, and service improvement.
- Participate in Practice Governance activities and implement changes in clinical practice.
- Comply with applicable regulatory and organizational standards.
