Full Time Hospice RN On-Call

About The Position

Silverado Hospice Austin is hiring a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to provide after-hours support to hospice patients and families across Lockhart, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, South Austin, Lakeway, North Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, and Leander. The role supports timely assessments and continuity of care, providing dignified and responsive care during critical moments. The position is full-time, with a schedule from Friday at 5:00 p.m. to Monday at 8:00 a.m. The anticipated pay range is $85,000–$95,000 USD.

Requirements

Registered Nurse with a valid state license.
At least 1 year of nursing experience.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must clear a criminal background check, physical, drug screening, and TB testing if applicable.
Flexibility to work outside regular hours based on business needs.
Must be comfortable working in environments with animals and pets.

Nice To Haves

Hospice experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing evaluations and after-hours assessments for patients experiencing changes in condition.
Assess patients for signs and symptoms of discomfort, including pain, and take prompt, appropriate action.
Initiate and update plans of care as needed; provide nursing follow-up and caregiver instruction.
Submit accurate documentation within 24 hours of visits.
Coordinate services across settings to ensure quality and appropriateness of care.
Follow approved care plans, modify them as needed, and communicate with physicians when appropriate.
