About The Position

The RN OB delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably in accordance with American Nurses Association professional standards and Michigan law. The nurse demonstrates competency through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and works to achieve optimal outcomes. The role upholds standards of professional performance, including ethical and culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

The position is based in the Big Rapids Family Birthing Center, which provides family-centered maternity care in 11 private, homelike patient rooms. The center is equipped to stabilize and care for infants needing specialized care, with specially trained staff and advanced technology.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 5 years.
• Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months.
• CRT-Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification required; 2 years stated.
