About The Position

Elderwood at Cheektowaga is seeking a Nursing Supervisor (RN) to join our clinical leadership team! This is an important leadership role responsible for overseeing nursing care delivery during the assigned shift, supporting nursing staff across units, responding to clinical and operational needs, and helping ensure exceptional resident care and service excellence. This role plays a critical part in maintaining clinical excellence, supporting staff performance, and ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, high-quality care.

Requirements

Possession of a state license in applicable state you are performing work and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
At least one (1) year of experience in a nursing leadership role
Current BLS/CPR
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level

Nice To Haves

Interest or experience in geriatrics
Experience with dementia population desirable

Responsibilities

Supervise nursing care services and nursing personnel across assigned units
Conduct rounds and provide clinical support and guidance to staff
Monitor resident conditions and ensure timely communication of changes
Assist with admissions, evaluations, care planning, and resident oversight
Support safe medication administration and treatment delivery
Assist with staffing coordination and assignment adjustments
Provide coaching, feedback, and support to nursing staff
Ensure documentation, workflows, and assignments are completed appropriately
Participate in shift-to-shift communication and operational updates
Promote a collaborative, respectful, team-focused environment
Help maintain compliance with facility policies, CMS standards, and nursing regulations
Support infection prevention and facility safety initiatives
Assist with incident response, emergency procedures, and survey readiness
Participate in QAPI and performance improvement efforts
