RN, Neuroscience ICU
About The Position
Community Regional is seeking skilled Neuroscience ICU nurses for a specialized 30-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:2. The unit is part of a Level I Trauma Center and works across the continuum of care for Valley patients and beyond. The neuroscience team received a Beacon Gold Award of Excellence and is one of 11 neuroscience intensive care units in the United States to earn the award. Nurses work 12-hour shifts with fellow team members and Neurological Intensivists, who provide individualized or group teaching. The role includes opportunities for skill development, educational training, additional neuroscience certifications, and advancement through the clinical nurse ladder. Examples of procedures supported by team credentials and training include external ventricular drain placement, ICP monitor placement, line placement, and lumbar drains.
Requirements
- High school diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or completion of a CHS-approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) certificate.
- Consistent demonstration of competent clinical nursing practice proficiency.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work in California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Responsibilities
- Provide competent clinical nursing care in the Neuroscience ICU.
- Work with team members and Neurological Intensivists in the care of patients.
- Participate in opportunities for skills growth and educational training.
- Pursue additional neuroscience certifications and advancement through the clinical nurse ladder.
