About The Position
This position requires a Registered Nurse (RN) with a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) skillset. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care, including head-to-toe assessments, orthopedic care, and the administration of various medications and treatments. The nurse will manage complex patient needs, including wound care, gastrointestinal care, central line management, catheter care, ostomy care, and postoperative patient care. The unit performs procedures such as NGT insertion.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Medical-Surgical skillset
- Knowledge of orthopedic care
- Experience with IV medication administration including management of Lasix drip, heparin drip, IVP metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin IV or subQ
- Experience with wound care including drain management and vacs
- Experience with NGT/G tube care and parenteral nutrition
- Experience with central line management- PICC/HD catheter/midlines
- Experience with foley/nephrostomy/suprapubic catheter care
- Experience with ostomy care
- Experience with postoperative patient care
Responsibilities
- Perform head-to-toe assessments.
- Provide orthopedic care.
- Administer IV medications, including management of Lasix drip, heparin drip, IVP metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin (IV or subQ).
- Manage wound care, including drain management and VACs.
- Provide NGT/G tube care and parenteral nutrition management.
- Manage central lines, including PICC, HD catheters, and midlines.
- Provide care for Foley, nephrostomy, and suprapubic catheters.
- Manage ostomies.
- Provide postoperative patient care.
- Perform NGT insertion.
