About The Position

The RN provides professional nursing care to patients across all age groups, supporting patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, high-quality patient outcomes. The RN provides individualized care, coordinates care delivery, completes and documents age-specific assessments, and collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans. The RN administers treatments and medications, documents care in electronic medical records, addresses patient and family education needs, advocates for patients, and supports their rights and psychosocial needs. The role also contributes to quality initiatives, applies knowledge of growth and development, supports peers and new employees, manages resources and priorities, participates in shared decision-making, and maintains confidentiality and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing-approved program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP certification.
• Keyboarding skills and computer literacy, including use of electronic medical records.

Nice To Haves

• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on the assigned work area.

Responsibilities

• Support orientation and training of new employees.
• Use problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
• Provide feedback and participate in shared decision-making activities.
• Support education activities within the department.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory and organizational standards.
