About The Position

This part-time Registered Nurse opportunity is in the MedSurg Tele Float Pool serving Scripps Mercy Hospitals in San Diego and Chula Vista. The position is 48 hours per pay period on 12-hour night shifts and includes benefits. The Site-Based Float Pool provides nursing support to Stepdown, with nurses floating between units and working as part of a skilled, collaborative team.

The RN takes primary responsibility for patient care in a family-centered environment. The role includes assessing, planning, and implementing care; evaluating progress toward patient outcomes; and collaborating with the care team to support optimal results. Nurses must be willing to float to other units.

Eligible part-time hires may receive up to $2,000 in new-hire incentives, subject to the stated eligibility conditions. Internal candidates and rehires who left Scripps less than three years ago are not eligible. Retention incentive eligibility requires remaining in the original hired FTE status and shift (if specified in the offer letter), department or specialty, and job title. Transfers to other locations are reviewed case by case and may result in forfeiture of the remaining incentive unless otherwise noted in the offer letter.

Requirements

• Registered Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active California RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Two years of recent adult MedSurg Tele RN experience.
• Willingness to float to other units.
• Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and positive behaviors.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• NIHSS certification.
