About The Position

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible Registered Nurse opportunity requiring 72 hours per pay period. The role works 12-hour day shifts, from 0700 to 1930, in the MedSurg Tele Float Pool at Mercy Hospitals in San Diego and Chula Vista.

The Site-Based Float Pool provides nursing support to Stepdown. Nurses float between units and collaborate with the care team in a family-centered environment. The RN takes primary responsibility for patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing care, and evaluating progress toward patient outcomes. The position emphasizes flexibility, teamwork, and leadership support.

Eligible candidates may receive up to $7,000 in new-hire incentives. Internal candidates and rehires who left Scripps less than three years ago are not eligible. To retain the incentive, employees must remain in their original hired FTE status and shift (if specified in the offer letter), department or specialty, and job title. Transfers to other locations are reviewed case by case and may result in forfeiture of the remaining incentive unless the offer letter specifies otherwise.

Requirements

• Registered Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active California RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Two years of recent adult MedSurg Tele RN experience.
• Willingness to float to other units.
• Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and positive behaviors.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• NIHSS certification.
