Requirements
- Associate’s degree required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 45 days of hire
- Current RN license in KY or compact state required.
- New graduates may work under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation of obtaining an RN license within the first 6 months of employment.
- Effective care planning and intervention
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Patient and family education proficiency
- Advocacy for patient well-being

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in alignment with applicable standards of practice.
- Perform care interventions such as medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Plan, document, and communicate patient care effectively.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines for patient care coordination, including transfer, discharge, and referrals.
- Provide patient and family education tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
