About The Position

Provides direct patient care in an internal medicine physician-office setting, using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and the organization’s policies, values, and mission. The role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, minimal supervision, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if the applicant has less than 3 years of experience.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification; a BLS card must be in hand before the start date and remain valid for 60 days after hire. Renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
At least 6 months of nursing experience.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Collaborate across disciplines as needed to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
Evaluate the learning needs of patients and/or families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel.
May precept student nurses and new hires.
