About The Position

The RN Med Surg delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department requirements and applicable state and specialty nursing standards. The nurse collaborates with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The role advocates for patients, families, and caregivers and supports positive patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• Registered Nurse Diploma.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• No experience required.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients on admission and during each scheduled shift, identifying and promptly reporting changes in their status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers, and document care administration thoroughly and promptly in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action in response to unintended medication effects.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology to support understanding.
• Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.
