About The Position
The RN-MED/SURG/TELEMETRY coordinates and provides direct nursing care for adult and geriatric patients on the Med-Surg Telemetry Unit. The nurse participates in teaching patients and their representatives and provides leadership by working cooperatively with physicians, ancillary services, and other patient-care team members to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. The Staff Nurse must be competent in the physiological and psychological assessment of adult and geriatric patients; recognize signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect and environmental or medical safety issues; and understand appropriate treatments and pharmaceuticals for these patients.
Requirements
- Current active California RN license.
- Graduation from a school of nursing with a diploma, associate degree, or advanced nursing degree.
- Current American Heart Association BLS provider card and NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification required upon hire.
- Computer literacy, including working knowledge of Word.
- Familiarity with an electronic healthcare record system.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience within the last 18 months is preferred.
