This position involves practicing according to entity mandatory requirements and department expectations, with a strong emphasis on a customer service approach. The Registered Nurse (RN) will care for patients utilizing the nursing process as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing effective patient and family teaching, and documenting care according to entity/department guidelines. Key responsibilities include safe medication administration, adherence to best practice standards of care, identification and reporting of neglect/abuse, and providing care for terminally ill patients and their families. The role also encompasses managing patients with pain, utilizing restraints as per policy, effective time management, and respecting patient advance directives. The RN must maintain appropriate licenses and certifications, address age-specific needs of adolescents, adults, and geriatric adults, and perform skills safely according to policies and protocols. Specific patient management includes chest drainage devices, intravenous therapy, epidural analgesia, telemetry monitoring, and providing care to post-operative and orthopedic patients. Other duties may be assigned.
