About The Position
This facility is a 492-bed Level I Trauma Center with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center. It provides high-quality care across various specialized units. The role involves providing exceptional patient care, managing patient assignments with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, engaging in teamwork, performing clinical procedures, and accurately documenting patient care within the electronic medical record system. Specific units include 6 North Trauma Surgical, 5 South Neuroscience, 5 North MedSurg/Oncology, 3 South Orthopedics, and 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology, each with distinct patient types and required skills.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 months of experience in MedSurg and/or ICU preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records (Cerner or EPIC required).
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
- RNs must be able to interpret telemetry strips.
Nice To Haves
- Telemetry experience is desirable.
- Chemo administration (certification preferred) for 5 North MedSurg/Oncology unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care in assigned units, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Manage patient assignments with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, including turning patients, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and other nursing care duties.
- Engage in teamwork alongside other healthcare professionals, including CNAs, Charge Nurses, and Telemetry Techs.
- Perform clinical procedures such as wound care, medication administration, chest tube management, and support in IV skills.
- Document patient care accurately within the electronic medical record system.
