RN Manager - Non-Invasive Cardiology - Days
About The Position
The RN Manager - Non-Invasive Cardiology manages activities, workflow, and nursing resources for assigned nursing unit(s) in the Cardiac Holding department. The role ensures regulatory and accreditation compliance, oversees staff hiring and development, addresses issues affecting patient care, and develops policies and procedures to support efficient delivery of health services. The manager also monitors the unit budget and ensures expenditures and purchases comply with budget guidelines. The Cardiac Cath Lab team provides outpatient diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in three cardiac catheterization labs. Services include heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), stent placement, balloon angioplasty, intravascular imaging (IVUS, OCT), functional assessments (FFR, iFR), and structural heart procedures such as TAVR, MitraClip, PFO closure, and device implantation. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.
Requirements
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing, obtained before the hire date or job transfer date.
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
- Required professional licensure/certification.
- Three years of experience.
- One year of cumulative leadership experience.
Responsibilities

- Ensure regulatory and accreditation requirements are met by the manager and within the unit.
- Hire, train, direct, develop, and evaluate staff.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting delivery of patient care services for assigned unit(s).
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
- Monitor and adhere to the budget.
- Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases, and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
