About The Position

The Cardiology Technician independently performs electrocardiograms, Holter monitor hook-ups, signal-averaged electrocardiograms, and patient monitoring for all patient populations. The technician manages the ECG system and distributes interpreted ECGs, follows applicable regulatory rules, and assists with stress tests alongside Cardiac Stress RNs or physicians during regular hours or on-call assignments. The role also supports research, professional and paraprofessional training, information management, and equipment maintenance. The technician helps coordinate daily cardiology department activities and patient flow by providing clinical and clerical support to staff, patients, and families. This is a bargaining union position.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• At least six months of prior patient care experience.
• Prior use of computer database systems.

Nice To Haves

• EMT certification.
• CCI (Cardiovascular Certification Institute) certification.

Responsibilities
