About The Position

Miller's Health Systems is hiring a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to serve as a Charge Nurse. The Charge Nurse is responsible for the nursing care of patients on their shift, follows each patient's Comprehensive Care Plan, and assists the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed. The role supervises direct resident care personnel on the shift. Candidates should be licensed nurses in Indiana who are passionate about serving others, professional in appearance and behavior, and able to work with a dedicated team. The position requires nursing knowledge, leadership and supervision skills, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff.

Requirements

Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
Pass the physical examination required for employment at the facility.
Maintain a professional manner and appearance.
Know nursing policies and procedures.
Know medication administration, possible side effects, treatment administration, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to resident care.
Have comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices.
Understand residents' physical, psychological, social, and medical needs.
Understand the organizational structure and duties of employees under the Unit Manager's supervision.
Demonstrate competence in supervision and leadership.
Have a caring attitude and be observant.
Foster and maintain good working relationships with other staff.
Demonstrate good judgment and emotional stability.
Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients on the assigned shift.
Follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for patients.
Assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed.
Supervise direct resident care personnel on the assigned shift.
