About The Position

Sanford Health is hiring a nurse for its General Surgery Clinic. This full-time role is part of a growing team that builds long-term patient relationships and uses nursing skills in a specialty area. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekends or holidays. Experience is credited toward wage.

The Registered Nurse uses the nursing process—including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes and planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide individualized patient care. The role coordinates care, assesses and educates patients, performs triage and other nursing interventions, and collaborates with physicians and other interprofessional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The nurse practices within the applicable scope and standards of nursing practice, the state Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules, and Sanford’s professional nursing practice framework.

Requirements

• Hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where nursing practice occurs, or possess multistate licensure if practicing in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific licensure, competencies, and certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to provide individualized patient care.

• Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge.

• Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules for the state of practice and licensure, as well as professional nursing standards and ethics.
