About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides individualized nursing care to residents by using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes and planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN collaborates with residents and families, providers, and other interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The role is in a skilled nursing facility specializing in assisted living, long-term, and post-acute care services. The position is PRN, with 12-hour shifts on varied schedules and zero scheduled weekly hours.

Requirements

Hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practicing, or possess multistate licensure if practicing in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program is preferred, including programs accredited by CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA.
A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Use the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents.
Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge, using age- and population-specific standards appropriate to the assigned clinical setting.
Care for residents through preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
Coordinate care, assess residents, provide resident education, and perform other nursing interventions.
May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel based on their job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and competence.
Provide delegates adequate assistance and support to promote safe, reliable care and resolve care and service concerns.
Practice according to the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules of the state of practice and licensure, and the professional nursing standards and ethics referenced in the posting.
