RN - Labor & Delivery, PRN, Nights
About The Position
Eastside Medical Center is hiring a PRN Labor & Delivery staff nurse for night shifts. The unit has 13 beds, four overflow antepartum rooms, two OR suites, and a new four-bed OB-ED. A Hospitalist provides 24/7 coverage, alongside a group of physicians. The unit may care for laboring patients, preterm patients greater than 20 weeks, and postpartum patients who need readmission. The team aims to adhere to AWHONN standards and monitors staffing in relation to patient census: 1:2 for laboring patients, 1:1 for active labor or C-section, 1:3 for antepartum patients, and 1:4 for triage/OB-ED. Care is patient-centered and delivered collaboratively by the health care team to support mother and baby. The staff nurse provides nursing care across the lifecycle using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The nurse works within organizational policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth and accountability, maintains standards of practice, and coordinates assigned staff’s patient-care activities to provide quality nursing care.
Requirements
- Graduate of a nursing program.
- Current Georgia Registered Nurse license or NLC/eNLC multistate license.
- BLS certification.
- For PRN positions, one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is required.
