About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional maternal and newborn care in a busy hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong maternal-child nursing experience, advanced assessment skills, and the ability to manage labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care while ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN License
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN)
- AHA BLS Certification
- AHA ACLS Certification
- NRP Certification
- Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
- Strong fetal monitoring and maternal assessment skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Nice To Haves
- Labor & Delivery experience in acute care hospital settings
- Experience managing high-risk obstetric patients
- Strong newborn stabilization and postpartum care skills
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy procedures
- Assist with and monitor conscious sedation procedures when required
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, newborn care, and recovery
- Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies and changing patient conditions
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records
- Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control, and hospital policies
