About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVI ICU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing complex cardiovascular cases and demonstrate expertise in critical care settings.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cardiovascular ICU
• Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or above
• Active Illinois nursing license
• CPR certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Epic experience is required
• Expertise in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Knowledge of multi-system organ failure and thermoregulation
• Experience with CABG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and Impella
• Pre/Post cardiac catheterization intervention
• Proficient in Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Valve Replacement/Repair and LVAD/RVAD management
• Competence in CVVHD/CRRT and IV therapy
• Ability to manage central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
• Knowledge of medications including continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and vasoactive drips
• Experience in CVA/acute stroke management and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in interpretation of ABGs and ventilator management
• Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVI ICU).
• Manage complex cardiovascular cases.

• Care for patients post cardiac surgery (not directly from the OR).
• Provide pre/post cardiac catheterization intervention care.
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration.
• Care for ventilated patients.
• Care for surgical wounds.
• Perform phlebotomy.
