About The Position

We are seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team. The unit consists of a 39-bed mixed ICU, including MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU. Nurses will not float into the CVICU side unless they have experience in that unit or specialty. The ICU serves complex patient populations, including Surgical, Medical, Cardiac (preferred), Neuro, and Trauma. Diagnoses may include, but are not limited to: ARDS, Myocardial Infarction (MI), CVA/TIA, COVID-19, Post-cardiac catheterization, Post-surgical, Multiple system trauma. Cardiac experience, particularly CABG/TAVR 24 to 48 hours post-op, is preferred but not required for travelers. Staffing ratios are dependent on patient acuity: 1:1, 1:2, or occasionally 1:3 (rare).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, excluding travel experience, is preferred.
  • Candidates with 1.5 years of ICU experience excluding travel will be considered if they have significant RN experience outside of ICU.
  • Previous travelers must have completed at least one prior travel assignment.
  • Travelers must reside at least 100 miles away from any facility location.
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC
  • Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing is necessary for Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Epic experience
  • Comfortable working a 48-hour/week contract
  • Experience with critical care patients
  • Ability to manage IV medications, including vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics
  • Proficient in hemodynamic line management, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry
  • Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Comfortability with floating should be confirmed during the interview process.

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiac experience, particularly CABG/TAVR 24 to 48 hours post-op, is preferred but not required for travelers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage critical care patients

  • Float to any adult floor, including Medsurg/Tele, with a 1:4 ratio if staffing levels are reduced.
