The RN provides professional nursing care to patients receiving diagnostic or therapeutic services across various healthcare settings. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, ensuring safety, comfort, and support throughout the patient's treatment journey. While critical care experience is a strong asset, candidates with solid medical-surgical backgrounds and strong critical thinking skills are also well-suited for success in this position. A caregiver in this position works part-time| 8:00am—4:30pm| one holiday on-call, no weekends, 7 call shifts every 6 weeks.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • In areas performing moderate sedation procedures, must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of employment
  • One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two years of recent RN experience
  • Critical care experience is a strong asset
  • Solid medical-surgical backgrounds
  • Strong critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
