About The Position
Hospice of Wichita Falls is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide hospice homecare in Wichita, Archer, Clay, Jack, Montague, and Young counties. The nurse visits patients in their homes and helps address their nursing needs, identify when other team members should assist, and work with patients and families to determine an appropriate plan of care. The role also directs other team members and ensures that care and documentation meet patient needs and support billing. Documentation should give the care team a clear picture of each patient's condition, expectations, and what is working. Care is provided in keeping with the organization's mission to offer care, hope, and support when illness threatens life.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
- Current license from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual concerns and problems of terminally ill patients in a home setting.
- Critical-thinking skills.
- Compassionate manner.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Visit patients in the designated service counties and ensure their nursing needs are addressed.
- Determine when patients need assistance from other team members.
- Help patients and families determine a plan of care that meets their needs.
- Direct other team members and ensure they meet patient expectations.
- Document care and ensure team members document their care to support continuity and billing.
