About The Position

The RN Hand Center provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing hand and orthopedic procedures. The role supports patient assessment, perioperative care, education, and rehabilitation in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The nurse helps ensure patient safety, promote optimal outcomes, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Other duties may be assigned. All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Requirements

• Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical documentation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient assignments.
• Ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary care teams.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control standards.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
• Nursing competencies based on ACHC standards or department-specific needs and specialties.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Experience in a surgery center, orthopedic, or perioperative environment.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Certification in perioperative or orthopedic nursing.
• Clinical nursing experience.
