Full-time night-shift RNs are eligible for a Night Shift Incentive Program payment of $1,600 quarterly ($6,400 annually). The Acute Care Fellowship is designed for experienced nurses who are new to an acute care environment. Orientation is tailored to system-based competency acquisition in the specialty unit of hire, using novice-to-expert theory and adult learning styles. Acute care nursing involves direct care on specialty medical-surgical units with moderate to high patient acuity. AMSN core curriculum and specialty certification standards are included in evidence-based care models. Clinical Educators support individualized specialty education and training, and validate competency throughout clinical orientation. UCHealth describes its nursing practice as delivering top-of-scope direct patient care through the nursing process, using a multidisciplinary approach, prioritizing wellness and the patient perspective, and applying evidence-based practice. Nurses are also expected to model proficiency through precepting, welcome learning in a fast-paced clinical environment, and contribute to safety and quality at the point of care. UCHealth offers a total rewards program that includes recognition and performance-based pay programs, medical, dental and vision coverage, mental health and well-being support, paid time off and paid family and medical leave, life and disability coverage, retirement savings plans, education and career development resources, and other voluntary benefits. Eligibility for some programs depends on scheduled work hours.
