About The Position

The RN Acute Care Surgical Specialties role provides direct nursing care on a specialty Acute Care (Med-Surg) unit with moderate to high patient acuity. The nurse practices to the top of scope using the nursing process, evidence-based care, and a multidisciplinary team approach to support safe, high-quality patient outcomes. Care models incorporate AMSN’s core curriculum and applicable specialty certification standards. Clinical Educators provide individualized specialty education and training, including competency validation during clinical orientation. Nurses also contribute to a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment and may support the development of colleagues through precepting. This is an onsite, full-time position at UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, on the Surgical Specialties Unit. The schedule is 72 hours per pay period, working day shifts. Pay is $35.29–$54.71 per hour, dependent on relevant experience.

Requirements

State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
At least 6 months of nursing (RN) experience.
Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if the applicant has less than 3 years of experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification and any relevant life support certification determined at the position level.
BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, with the card in hand before the start date; the card must remain valid through 60 days after hire.
BLS renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
