About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care on specialty Acute Care (Med-Surg) units with moderate to high patient acuity. The role uses the nursing process and evidence-based care models, including the American Medical-Surgical Nurses Association core curriculum and applicable specialty certification standards. Clinical educators support individualized specialty education and training, with competency validation during clinical orientation. At UCHealth, nurses practice as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritizing wellness, the patient perspective, safety, and quality. Nurses are expected to model proficiency by precepting people new to healthcare or UCHealth and to welcome new knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment. This is an onsite, part-time position at UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, Colorado. The schedule is 48 hours per pay period (two weeks), on weekend days. Pay is $35.29–$54.71 per hour, dependent on relevant experience.

Requirements

State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
At least 6 months of nursing (RN) experience.
Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if the applicant has less than 3 years of experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification and any relevant life support certification required for the position level.
BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, with the card in hand before the start date; the card must remain valid through 60 days after hire. BLS renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
