About The Position
The Emergency Department RN provides nursing care to patients and directs patient care under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and nursing supervisor. The RN delivers care appropriate to the needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, using a patient-centered approach to total nursing care. The position requires cooperation, flexibility, and resourcefulness when interacting with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel. The RN plans, supervises, and evaluates patient nursing care and correlates the nursing process with the medical plan of care and applicable policies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing, as evidenced by verification of state licensure.
- Current Tennessee or Compact State registered nurse license required.
- BLS certification required upon hire.
- ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of assignment to the Emergency Department.
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment preferred.
