Our Values Respect | Belonging | Accountability | Transparency Department Trauma Service Job Summary The Trauma Outreach and Education Coordinator is the leader of referral relationships designed to improve growth and profitability of the Denver Health Trauma program. Under minimal supervision, is responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of business-based strategies for increased trauma program growth. The Trauma Outreach and Education Coordinator is a subject matter expert and resource nurse for Denver Health and any of its associates regarding all things related to trauma care. This nurse will act as a liaison for Denver Health Trauma working to build relationships and continue to establish Denver Health as a Trauma resource. This position also works with nursing education to develop trauma educational programs to improve patient care and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required
  • Four years of experience in hospital and/or major healthcare organization and outreach or business position. Required
  • 3+ years Critical Care or Emergency Nursing experience – required
  • RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
  • TCRN-Trauma Certified Registered Nurse - BCEN - Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing
  • TNCC-Trauma Nurse Core Course - STN - Society of Trauma Nurses Required or ATCN-Advanced Trauma Care of Nurses - STN - Society of Trauma Nurses Required
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide input on projects/programs, assist with associated work plans.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Subject matter expert regarding trauma care and Level I trauma standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the build of Trauma Related Outreach programs 40%
  • Coordinate trauma outreach and education activities to support the development of referral relationships, regional partnerships, and continued growth of the Denver Health Trauma program 10%
  • Review trauma patient care and serve as a clinical resource and liaison for Denver Health, referring facilities, EMS agencies, community partners, and other stakeholders regarding trauma care and related resources 25%
  • Develop and coordinate trauma education and professional development opportunities, including educational programs, case reviews, simulation, and other activities based on identified needs 10%
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen relationships, support trauma system development, and improve patient care and outcomes 10%
  • Support outreach strategy, program development, and evaluation through data review and report 5%
