RN – Complex Medical Care Unit
About The Position
Join Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, a Magnet Hospital recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for excellence in professional nursing practice. The Complex Medical Care Unit delivers comprehensive medical, surgical, and telemetry care to adult and geriatric patients with a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, including heart failure, COPD, infections, and gastrointestinal disorders. Specialized care includes cardiac and post-catheterization, renal, respiratory, vascular, diabetes, wound, and ostomy services. The unit has three wings and offers the opportunity to float across all three, gaining experience with a diverse patient population. As a Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with the healthcare team and engage patients, families, and visitors through education, support, and compassionate care focused on improving outcomes and the patient experience. The schedule is days, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every-other-weekend and holiday requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience or military RN experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to facilitate planned and expected outcomes.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and families using educational materials while considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
