About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Martin South Hospital where research and surgery are advanced, technology is leading-edge, patient care is world class and caregivers are family. This 100-bed hospital serves the communities in and around Martin County. Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians, nurses, and other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment. As an RN on the Code Blue/Rapid Response Team at Martin South Hospital, you will provide urgent medical attention to patients in danger of dying, often due to cardiac or respiratory arrest. In this role, you will assess health conditions to determine the best mode of treatment to initiate, whether via CPR, intubation, defibrillation or medication administration. Your work is critical in ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes, allowing you to make a difference in your community every day. Additionally, you gain access to a wealth of educational and professional development resources, such as committee and council participation. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying nights from 7:00PM – 7:00AM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association or ALS American Red Cross certification upon hire
  • One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two years of experience in a critical care setting (e.g., Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
