The Rapid Response Team (RRT) Nurse is a registered professional nurse responsible for coordinating Rapid Response Team assessments, prioritizing and implementing interventions for optimal patient outcomes, documenting interventions and outcomes, communicating with team members and disciplines, and delivering age-appropriate and culturally aware patient care. The RRT Nurse addresses patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs. They serve as a resource and support to staff, physicians, patients, families, and other departments. Responsibilities include managing RRT calls, follow-up visits, data collection, entry, and analysis, developing RRT practice guidelines, evaluating patient codes, and providing informal staff education.
