About The Position

Provide professional nursing care through the nursing process as a dedicated Rapid Response and Code RN, delivering timely, expert, and critical care response across the hospital. This role involves anticipating and addressing patient deterioration proactively, leading and facilitating resuscitation with strong clinical judgment, and promoting effective cross-unit collaboration and positive team dynamics. The position aims to strengthen organizational outcomes by standardizing event response, conducting post-event debriefings, and supporting quality-improvement efforts to reduce variation across rapid response and code events. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate documentation for sepsis bundle time-zero, stroke care, and all rapid response and code events to support regulatory compliance and performance improvement. Additionally, the role involves providing education and support to patients, families, bedside staff, and residents to enhance readiness, clinical competence, and continuity of care, while upholding all policies, procedures, and nursing standards of practice.

Requirements

  • Current licensure with New Jersey State Board of Nursing as required by law.
  • American Heart Association BLS required.
  • American Heart Association ACLS required.
  • Critical Care Course required.
  • Dysrhythmia course required.
  • Critical Care Nursing Experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN graduates preferred.
  • Preceptor Experience Preferred.
  • National Certification CCRN required within 6 months of hire.
