About The Position

The RAPID RESPONSE RN provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The Rapid Response RN will be required to float to North Campus, the Pavilion and Specialty areas. The RRT RN team may respond to ACC building, Faculty Clinic, both inpatient and outpatient departments in Pavilion, North and Clinical Center including front and back sidewalks of hospital buildings and employee garage. The Rapid Response RN must comply with all license, certification, and training requirements. The Rapid Response RN is expected to perform as mentor in 'Walking in the Shoes of a Nurse Leader' when assigned. The Rapid Response RN is expected to proactively round on assigned patients, respond to activations and codes, lead debriefings and provide bedside education.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida
  • BLS from American Heart Association
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association
  • PALS from the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • NRP required within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • 3-5 years of Critical Care/ICU/ED registered nurse experience
  • Adheres to hospital and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care.
  • Proficient in ACLS guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position (for new hires effective June 14, 2017).
  • BSN
  • Professional Certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of Critical care/ICU/ED registered nurse experience.
