Care is personalized according to the AACN Synergy Model for Patient Care. The RN Clinician serves as a resource for colleagues and advocates for patients and families. The role delivers and documents nursing care, assesses patients, develops and adjusts care plans with patient and family input, and identifies learning needs. It also involves collaboration with interdisciplinary care partners, delegation, developing leadership responsibilities—including Charge Nurse duties when assigned—and support for staff and student orientation when no designated preceptor is available. The RN Clinician contributes to quality improvement through evidence-based practice, data collection and analysis, and participation in efforts to identify and resolve areas for improvement. Professional growth and maintenance of required points and contact hours in the clinical lattice PLAN system are also expected.
