The RN Clinician is an experienced healthcare professional who provides nursing care to patients in the Cardiology Stepdown or Cardiovascular Stepdown specialty. Using clinical knowledge, research, and experience, the clinician adapts to changing situations and personalizes care according to the AACN Synergy Model for Patient Care. The clinician also serves as a resource for colleagues and advocates for patients and families. The 38-bed Cardiology/Telemetry unit primarily operates as a Cardiac Stepdown unit, caring for patients who need cardiac monitoring and management. Its focus includes cardioversions, pre- and post-procedure care for pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implantation and explanation, and heart failure management. New hires receive specialized orientation education in EKG interpretation, cardiac dysrhythmias, heart failure management, and device therapy. The Cardiovascular Stepdown unit is a high-volume, fast-paced Cardiovascular Thoracic Stepdown unit, also known as an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU). It provides intermediate-level care for patients recovering from open and minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic procedures, surgical interventions, congenital or acquired cardiac defects, and heart attacks. Nurses care for patients requiring close cardiac monitoring, specialized cardiac medications, and advanced treatment modalities. Full-time day and night shifts are available, with a 36-hour workweek. The posting invites experienced registered nurses with active RN licenses approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing to attend a virtual interview day on November 9, 2026.
