About The Position

Meadow Ridge, a Benchmark Senior Living community in Redding, Connecticut, is seeking Registered Nurses to join its Ridge Crest nursing center. Ridge Crest provides short- and long-term nursing care and is described as a 5-star Medicare-rated center and a Center of Excellence in Wound Management. The RN delivers nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment and works as part of a supportive team with a high staff-to-resident ratio. The position is per diem, with an hourly wage range of $47–$51 and shift differentials of $5, $6, and $2, respectively.

Requirements

• Current state RN license and CPR certification.
• Graduation from an approved RN program, as required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with older adults in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Director of Nursing, physician, family, nurses, care associates, and Administrator, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources according to state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and know when to call for backup.
