About The Position

Meadow Ridge, a Benchmark Senior Living continuing care retirement community in Redding, Connecticut, is seeking per diem Registered Nurses to join the Ridge Crest nursing team. Ridge Crest is a short- and long-term nursing center. The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment and works with a supportive team in a community with a high staff-to-resident ratio.

The hourly wage range is $47–$51, with shift differentials of $5, $6, and $2. The position requires a current state RN license, CPR certification, and graduation from an approved RN program. One to two years of nursing experience is preferred, as is experience working with older adults in a paid or volunteer role.

Requirements

• Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, as required by state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior or health to the Director of Nursing, physician, family, nurses, care associates, and Administrator in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including financial exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources in accordance with state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response systems, and know when to call for backup.
