J62 is a dynamic, 24-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry Stepdown Unit dedicated to delivering specialized care for patients recovering from advanced cardiac surgeries and complex cardiovascular conditions. Our team provides expert care for patients following coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), minimally invasive and robotic heart surgery, valve repair and replacement, ventricular assist device (VAD) implantation, total artificial heart procedures, aneurysm repair, maze procedures, and other innovative cardiac interventions. As a fast-paced, high-acuity unit, J62 offers exceptional opportunities for nurses to build clinical expertise while working with cutting-edge cardiovascular therapies and technology. In addition to caring for post-surgical patients, J62 treats a diverse cardiac population, including individuals with heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, and those requiring pacemaker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) procedures. As a designated unit for advanced mechanical circulatory support, J62 specializes in the management of left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and total artificial hearts, making it an ideal environment for nurses seeking professional growth, advanced cardiovascular experience, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients with complex cardiac needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
  • New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
