About The Position

Provides direct care to patients on an assigned unit using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and manages the care of assigned patients. The role works primarily with adult and geriatric patients, or with pediatric and adolescent patients on assigned units. The nurse demonstrates professional growth and development by taking on Shift Leader responsibilities when requested and/or in preparation for advancement to Level II or Level III. The position is based in a typical acute health care setting and involves patients with a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. It requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, and may involve stressful conditions and exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
Current RN license in the State of Georgia, verified through a primary source.
BLS CPR certification.
For Level II: one or more years of experience in the area of specialty.
Nursing skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Nursing in Georgia.
For Level II: successful ACLS certification within one year.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
Ability to perform the full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, with manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Ability to stand and walk for extensive periods.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.

Responsibilities

Participate in a PI study and present an in-service program at Level II.
