About The Position
The Detroit Medical Center Registered Nurse is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides care activities for a group of patients and their families, exercising independent judgment and collaborating and communicating with team members, ancillary services, and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. This position is for the night shift on 2 West, a 25-bed telemetry unit. The unit provides care in surgical services, including neurology, oral and maxillofacial, gynecological, and trauma services. Its team includes Registered Nurses and Patient Care Associates with specialized training in orthopedic patient care and surgery, and staff are EKG trained. A sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 is offered based on relevant experience.
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
- Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
- Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
- Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision-making activities.
