About The Position

Maimonides Health is seeking a Clinical Risk Manager to join the Risk Management team at Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital. The role helps implement and enhance the hospital’s Risk Management Program, works with clinical departments to identify and investigate potential risks, and supports compliance with regulatory standards. It is suited to a clinician seeking to transition from bedside care into patient safety and quality.

Requirements

• Current New York State license as an MD, RN, or PA.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of clinical experience (high-risk or acute care preferred), or graduation from an accredited nursing program with a current NYS RN license plus 5 years of clinical experience.
• 3–5 years of Risk Management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with outside regulatory agencies.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical experience in high-risk or acute care.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enhance the hospital’s coordinated Risk Management Program.
• Ensure compliance with NYSDOH incident reporting (NYPORTS) and Joint Commission, NYSDOH, NYCDOH, and FDA standards.
• Review occurrence reports and cases referred by departments and practitioners for reportability and liability issues.
• Assist with patient complaints and grievances in partnership with the Patient Representative.
• Work with the Risk/Safety Data Analyst to build reports for QI projects.
• Participate in QI and Peer Review activities and meetings.
• Help keep the hospital survey-ready for unannounced regulatory visits.
• Develop and deliver Risk Management training for staff at all levels.
• Support Patient Safety and Just Culture initiatives.
