About The Position

Mortenson is currently seeking a Risk Manager to assist with overall management of a comprehensive corporate insurance program along with corporate risk management duties with a concentration on risk identification, risk transfer, and risk retention techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum five years’ experience in risk management or insurance industry
  • Contract review and negotiation experience
  • Experience with a corporate insurance program including Casualty, Professional, Pollution and Builder’s Risk/Property insurance
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team based environment
  • Proficiency in all software offerings in Microsoft Office 365
  • Proficient in Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) programs and database
  • Extremely well organized and strong attention to detail
  • strong math and financial analysis skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Positive, professional attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance industry designations (CPCU, CRIS, CIC, ARM etc.) preferred
  • Construction industry knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain primary responsibility for managing the corporate insurance program, renewal process, and all other interaction between our brokers and insurers
  • Lead the review and placement of insurance policies on a project specific basis
  • Develop and maintain external relationships with insurance brokers and insurance carrier partners
  • Assist business leaders in the review and negotiation of agreements including owner agreements, design agreements, subcontracts, leases etc.
  • Management and oversight of a corporate risk management team providing daily project support for operating groups
  • Oversee the risk analysis, accurate pricing, and placement of insurance coverage for all new project pursuits
  • Provide support to drive corporate initiatives and to facilitate the risk management process
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance.
