Risk Control Consultant
About The Position
Metis/Risk Management Programs, a Roanoke-owned and operated company providing third-party administrative services for self-insurance risk pools and operational support and other solutions for Metis subsidiaries, is seeking a Risk Control Consultant to join its Risk Control Team. The position is located in Virginia or West Virginia and requires travel within Virginia and/or West Virginia. The consultant evaluates client loss exposures and potential risk factors, recommends appropriate risk management practices, develops and conducts training and seminars, and performs facility safety assessments focused on workers’ compensation, general liability, and fire safety risks. The role also prepares detailed safety assessment reports. Duties and responsibilities may change and the listed activities are not comprehensive. The expected annual salary range is $48,000–$65,000, depending on education, certifications, location, and experience. Metis is a tobacco-free workplace, except in West Virginia.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in risk management, safety, or a related field.
- Strong public speaking, communication, and computer skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel in Virginia and/or West Virginia.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable DMV records, and current liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- College degree preferred.
- GSP, ASP, CSP, OSHA, or ARM designation(s), or ability to obtain them, preferred.
Responsibilities
